Light is the one supplier you cannot rebook. It arrives on its own schedule, and the whole day either works with it or against it.
Map the shadows
We use a sun-path app and a printed floor plan to see where shadows fall every thirty minutes. Then we walk the aisle at that time, a week before, and watch what the building actually does.
Choose your character of light
Midday gives crisp, graphic shadows — beautiful against concrete and white walls, harder on squinting guests. The last two hours before sunset are kinder to faces and forgiving for photographers. Neither is wrong; they are different films.
Once the ceremony time is fixed, everything else follows: the first look, the portraits, the moment dinner is called. A good timeline is really a lighting plan with food in it.
