Mara and Theo came to us with a single image: a white wall, a hard shadow and the two of them laughing in front of it. Everything else grew from that photograph.

The venue

Casa Lumen is a private house that opens for three events a year. Its courtyard holds exactly sixty people at one table — which became the guest list.

The design

Raw linen, olive branches, smoked glass and a single white ranunculus at every place. No signage, no backdrop, no confetti. The building did the talking.

We kept waiting for something to go wrong, and then it was midnight and we were still dancing.

The ceremony began at 17:40, exactly when the shadow left the aisle. We know, because we rehearsed it twice.
